South Carolina (USA), 16 April
- Sonya Bowers, a mother of a three-year-old son with autism, was brutally
murdered by her estranged husband on Tuesday night.
Ms. Bowers was 32 years old. She was a board member and support group leader with the South Carolina Autism Society, as well as a support parent with Family Connection of South Carolina.
Ms. Bowers' husband was shot and killed by police on Wednesday after he fired shots at police as they attempted to arrest him. Their child is living with family members.
A memorial fund to help cover Ms Bowers' funeral expenses has been set up. Donations are tax deductible.
